Export Import Tool

featured import tool

You can export all of the domain data as a CSV file, edit it in your favorite spreadsheet software, then import back into DMP and the domains will automatically update based on the edited fields in the file.

What is CSV? It is the most common file format for exporting and importing data for spreadsheets and databases. The file can be opened for editing in any spreadsheet software currently in use.

What are the benefits of exporting and importing CSV file? You can export your entire domain inventory to a spreadsheet which you can then send as a single file to potential buyers. You can edit your domains offline and then import the CSV file back into DMP for fast updating.

Can you add new domain listings using a spreadsheet? Yes, you can. Any domains that already exist in the platform will be updated based on the changes you make in the spreadsheet. But if any new domain rows are encountered, these will be created as new listings when you import the CSV file.

How to export and import domains:

  1. Select Export/Import from under Tools.
  2. Select the fields you want to export or import.
  3. Follow the instructions provided.

When you export domains, a new window will open to allow you to continue working on your site while the export generates.

Imports take much less time and occur within the interface.

To import, the file must be .csv formatted and contain the same fields that you select in the list and in the same order.

Uploading Images

Only images in these formats can be uploaded: .gif, .jpg, .png, .ico

Site Logos & Favicon

Logos uploaded to the header should have very little to no white space around them. Avoid having small text in the header logo. Make the logo large, between 500×110 to 900×220. It will be shrunk and look sharp even on high resolution retina displays. If you find that the lettering is too small then increase the width and reduce space between the letters and edge of the image file.

Logos in the footer appear larger so they can contain more detail such as smaller sub-text.

Favicon should be either 32×32 or 16×16.

To upload a site logo and favicon, go to Customize Website and Upload Logo or Upload Favicon.

Domain Logos

For best results domain logos should be 800×600 or if smaller, keeping the same proportions.

To upload a domain logo, go to the domain edit page and select the Upload Logo option.

Banner/Slider Images

Images for the headers should be 1920 wide and between 500 and 1080 high.

Header images can be uploaded under Customize Website then Home Page, then Banners/Sliders.

Always make sure to optimize images for fastest load time and keep the image size below 700Kb, although below 500Kb is best.

Editing Domains in Bulk

In addition to adding multiple domains, you can also edit multiple domains. To do this, select Domain Inventory under Domain Manager. You can filter domains by Premium, Sale, Website, or sold, or perform a search for domains with a certain pattern.

Then select the Bulk Edit Table option just above the domain listings. The listings will be converted into editable fields.

Make the necessary edits and choose Update.

In the Bulk Edit Table mode you can edit the following items:

  • Domain Name
  • Registration Date (format YYYY-MM-DD)
  • Categories
  • Showcase Settings: Premium, On Sale, Website Included
  • Mark as sold
  • Pricing info: Asking Price, Minimum Offer, Lease Price

* In the drop-down categories list, any category with an asterisk signifies that the category is not applied to the current DMP Shop. So if you want to have the domain listed in the current shop, ensure that at least one category you select does not have an asterisk.
